MADOI RELOADED

Madoi reloaded. Madoi appare e scompare.
Madoi reloaded. Madoi appears and disappears. He seems stuck away,  but he comes back unexpected  or  at times scheduled in never forgotten memories boards, though hidden into the whirl of life.   Madoi used to be like that. Even as a father he felt the need to disappear for long periods,   reappearing out of the blue just to give us crash courses on duties/orders tailored on our current life stage, to be kept in mind till his umpteenth return from his personal art land where he was too busy in chasing and pursuing his ghosts and inspiration to have time of taking care of us.   Now, besides in our dreams, or in sorts of esoteric shows just to frighten us, Madoi reappers in a place he loved for his last ten years of life,  may be the most happy ones. Sesta. Next Saturday, 13th July is the day of celebration of another 13th July, of 50 years ago. Sesta, on 13th July of 1963, was a village almost forced - as there was no way to fail the Event - into a festive mood,  to pay  homage to Madoi for having changed its life course - so far quiet and peaceful - thanks to or owing to his paintings spread not only everywhere in the village,   but even in its little Church, making of its grey and dull walls a set for a shocking reload of the most important and awful drama of the Christian world.  Madoi was there, that day, and his menacing presence was more than enough to set rule and order in a day formally demanding. Even the Archbishop of that time, dually present as guest of honour and painted in a corner of the Church, had to follow Madoi's  script for the day.  Now Madoi is no more with them, but he is there nevertheless, in a selfportrait half hidden in the apse of his Church. A 3 meters high threatening figure, covered with a long dark mantel, his usual outfit, as vigil witness of present and future behaviours, as a memento of his fury in the event of neglect or non memories for the heritage he left or forced to accept in those ten years between '60 and '70, when he was in his Sesta mood, feeling like the Governor of the place.

CHANGES

Changes, cambiamenti.
Changes. They appear unexpected and mostly unwanted,  sorting out apparently from nowhere or they materialize as dreams,  wishes or goals finally achieved after eternities spent on trying to reach them. Anyhow, either with rage or resignation, or with joy weakened by exhaustion, one has to accept them.  And we have to live inside them, setting up home in the new dimension imposed by destiny.  They are the umpteenth challenge of our life, and we have to live them in full gear, with different emotions, with fear or incredolous joy,  according to the events. It may happen that  an anonymous past, lived among the greys of life, may represent a comfortable den and,  while dreaming of leaving it at the soonest, at the very moment set for the opening of the cage we are not so willing to leave those sad and unhospitable boundaries, as they contained all your past life, the one you know, and all that light, all that joy that you may now see outside may even frighten you, making you afraid of leaving that sad, but sure, place. Please, do cross that line, sniff that sublime and new air and embrace this new dimension of your life, for the worst or for the best, with joy and enthusiasm, because life is like a wonderful diamond, full of facets and never seen before colours.
