"... Con grande sorpresa abbiamo ricevuto e subito accolto l’ invito del Sindaco del Comune di San Donato Milanese, Francesco Squeri (Nota: Francesco Squeri è figlio di Carlo Squeri, Sindaco all' epoca dell' Evento nel 1975) a cercare nella nostra memoria e nei nostri archivi ricordi e materiale del periodo della preparazione di questo Monumento di cui si celebra in questo anno il 50° anniversario dalla sua inaugurazione . In quella giornata di festa, unica lieta in un periodo molto complicato, ci siamo emozionate per l’ evidente e incontenibile soddisfazione di nostro padre, incerto sino all’ ultimo di poter arrivare ad un traguardo così impegnativo. Era quasi felice. Ha voluto prepotentemente esserci, sia per l’ opera che aveva personalmente accompagnato sino alla sua posa, che per la speranza assurda di poter proseguire ancora per un po’, forse un’ altra statua, un altro lavoro, da lasciare, per ricordare sempre e comunque Cardenio, il nome del partigiano che era stato, e per tutte le emozioni ancora inespresse che invadevano il suo presente. Ora, 50 anni dopo, questa Celebrazione cade nell’ anno del Centenario della nascita di Madoi, 1925 - 2025. Potenza dei numeri e delle coincidenze. Ringraziamo sentitamente il Comune di San Donato Milanese per averci coinvolto in questo evento, dandoci l’ opportunità di soffermarci a ripensare ad un importante momento della nostra vita. "With great surprise we received and immediately accepted the invitation of the Mayor of the Municipality of San Donato Milanese, Francesco Squeri (Note: Francesco Squeri is the son of Carlo Squeri, former Mayor at the time of the Event in 1975) to search in our memory and in our archives for memories and material from the period of the preparation of this Monument, which this year celebrates the 50th anniversary of its inauguration. On that day of celebration, the only happy one in a very complicated period, we were moved by the evident and irrepressible satisfaction of our father, uncertain until the end of being able to reach such a challenging goal. He was almost happy. He wanted to be there forcefully, both for the work that he had personally accompanied until its installation, and for the absurd hope of being able to continue for a while longer, perhaps another statue, another work, to leave, to always and in any case remember Cardenio, the name of the partisan he had been, and for all the emotions still unexpressed that invaded his present. Now, 50 years later, this Celebration falls in the year of the Centenary of the birth of Madoi, 1925 - 2025. Power of numbers and coincidences.
