WE HAVE SET THEM FREE

Li abbiamo liberati.  Coinvolti senza neanche chiederlo, Isabella e Walter Madoi, i nostri genitori, li abbiamo   intrappolati in una Fondazione.   Testimoni sempre involontari di tante mostre,  eventi celebratori,  discussioni, successi e delusioni, fiumi di discorsi, si sono sempre trincerati in un silenzio - per noi assenso - totale. Mai un cenno, mai una luce, nulla. Dalla sua costituzione nel  2007, neppure la scelta del 17 Gennaio, giorno speciale per entrambi e che avrebbe dovuto intenerire anche i sassi, la Fondazione in loro nome veniva  riconosciuta e apprezzata da tutti,  da loro non è certo. A quasi 17 - 17, ancora -  anni da quella data, sciogliendo questo vincolo, riteniamo di averli liberati, abbiamo in pratica tolto la cornice. Ora proseguiamo da sole, come sempre del resto,  anche  se ci sentivamo protette  da quel  logo - questo accanto, con la cornice -  che li rappresentava.  Proseguiamo da sole, con quello che ci rimane, cioè tutto, con la differenza che ora -  grazie alla  Fondazione, gli archivi, i ricordi, le collezioni in nostre mani, sono perfetti, in ordine, catalogati con maniacale cura, e con tutti ricordi - anche i loro -  ben documentati.  Tutto questo rimane  con  noi, rimarrà oltre noi. Speriamo almeno che ora si  sentano sollevati, liberi da recinti umani  per  poter  spaziare verso  altre cose, in altri mondi. 

We freed them. . Involved without even asking, Isabella and Walter Madoi, our parents, and  trapped  in a Foundation.  Involuntary witnesses of so many exhibitions, celebratory events, discussions, successes and disappointments floods of words,  they have always entrenched themselves in total silence - for us assent. Never a nod, never a light, nothing. Since its establishment in 2007, not even the choice of January 17, a special day for both of them and which should have softened even the stones, the Foundation in their name was acclaimed as recognized, appreciated by all, except by them. Almost 17 - 17, again - years after that date, by dissolving this bond, we believe that in  freeding them, we have practically removed the frame. Now we continue alone, as always, actually,  even if we felt protected by their logo - see left, but with the frame - which represented them. We continue alone, with what we have left, that is everything, with the difference that now - thanks to the Foundation work - the archives,  the collections in our hands are in perfect order, catalogued with obsessive care, and with all the memories - theirs inclusive -  well documented. All these treasures are with us, they will remain beyond us. Let's at least hope that now they feel relieved, free from human enclosures and now  able to wander towards other things, in other worlds.
